Get ready for the ultimate showdown of skills and talent as we present the Interschool Challenge.  This incredible event is an initiative and totally unique to Zing Activ which has been produced every school term for 23 years.  As part of the School Dance program, the Interschool Challenge is an event that school choose to be a part of.  Some schools choose to showcase at their own school and many others choose to participate in the very popular Interschool Challenge. 

Each event attracts an audience of approximately 3,500 and is open to all children in Years 3–6.  Performance and competition are strongly featured at this event.   

The Interschool Challenge is the perfect opportunity to show your support your school as they compete against other schools. This is an event that brings the whole community together and celebrates the incredible spirit of teamwork and hard work.

The Zing Activ Interschool Challenge is the perfect platform for your child to showcase their talents and skills and we guarantee an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

SHOWCASE DANCE

The Showcase Dance is certainly the highlight of the Interschool Challenge event.   Students in Years 3 – 6 have learnt their specially choregraphed hip hop routine that they will present solo as a school group to the entire audience. 

This is the perfect opportunity for children to experience performance in front of a large audience of approximately 4000.  Performance ability rises to another level when representing ones school.  Confidence, pride in their school and team spirit are all on showcase in this event. 

PARTNER ROUTINES

The Partner Routines are another exciting component of the Interschool Challenge event. Students get to showcase their partner dancing skills. 

Latin and Ballroom routines such as Jive and Tango are performed with great skill, style and wow factor. Working together as a pair is the great outcome in this segment. 

PARTY DANCES

The Party Dances are the unique and specially choregraphed routines created by our very own ZING Activ team.  Lots of fun, energy and favourite music tracks.  These routines are learnt throughout the term and then presented on the night in front of an engaging audience. 

No one stays seated on the sidelines for these dances!

INDIVIDUAL & SCHOOL WINNERS

Children are able to achieve as individual ribbon winners or a partner winners or as the school champion group.  The children receive tremendous support from a very excited parent and grandparent audience which creates an atmosphere for children to be thrilled by and remember for many years.   Everyone will leave the event with a sense of pride and accomplishment regardless of the outcome.

TERMS LEARNINGS SHOWCASE

The Interschool Challenge is the perfect platform for your child to showcase their talents and skills to a wider audience. Parents will be amazed to see how much their child has learned and how far they've come throughout the term.

It's a wonderful opportunity for your child to gain confidence, build self-esteem, and feel proud of their accomplishments.

FAQ’s

  • Every child competes in 3 main events. Two partner dancers and 1 full school showdance. All children will also participate in all party dances that are done throughout the night.

  • All children are ushered to their school area on arrival and will not be able to leave that area until they have been collected by a parent/carer at the end of the night.

    There will be teachers supervising the children throughout the night.

  • Parents will always be informed if they need to bring anything for their child for the event.

    This will be communicated to you through the school.

  • All participants and spectators will need to purchase a ticket prior to the event. Children under 5 will not need a ticket.

  • We always suggest for parents to pack a small bag for their child in case throughout the night they may want to snack on some food.

    Your child will not be able to leave their school area on night and parents will not be able to come down onto the performing arena to give their child food.

  • Contact the team through our website and they will be able to resend you your purchased tickets.
